: her voice throughout the sea is the sea crossing itselfremote call
from the woman perched on the rocks
it’s also believable to live outside fishes
inside a lighthouse at the end of the dockside
and to meet now
more through the tides’ memory than through the limits of fate
: the sea is between us and therefore unites us :
the same word that fits my mouth
fits hers
: all the oceans fit into her mouth :

haar stem over de zee is de overtocht van de zee zelf
: haar stem over de zee is de overtocht van de zee zelfverre roep
van vrouw in evenwicht op de rotsen
het is ook geloofwaardig buiten vissen te leven
in een vuurtoren aan het eind van de dokken
en elkaar nu te ontmoeten
meer door het geheugen van de getijden dan door het uiterste toeval
: de zee ligt tussen ons en verbindt ons daarom :
hetzelfde woord dat past in mijn mond
past in de hare
: in haar mond passen alle oceanen :
