I waited for the end of the day, and the weariness
to approach this earth
and did not bring flowers,
because earth made them, the flowers, and let her have them.
I brought you hands, I’ve placed them
on this square earth, because the hands
were made by our mother and we can’t give them back.

perché li ha fatti la terra, i fiori, e se li prenda.
