The Island Fool

Survives by eating stars at night,
day is a cottage of reeds to him
nobody could enslave him yet

his head  – that sky – crested with ginger pines,
gathering our footprints from the limestone shore
as we silently leave the island
to polish the sooty lamp.

ADANIN DELİSİ

ADANIN DELİSİ

Yıldız yiyerek yaşıyor geceleri,
gündüzse sazdan kulübe ona
tutsak alamamış onu hiç kimse

servilerle taçlanmış alnı, gökyüzü –
ayak izlerimizi topluyor kalkerli kumsalda,
ayrıldığımızda sessiz adadan,
parlatmak için isli lâmbayı.
