Poem
Carlos Vásquez
Lover let me wander under your weight
Lover let me wander under your weightThe road rests in the threshold
Words quiver in my fingers
Solitude eats my food
The water of your kisses troubles me
I owe you the brightness of the hour
The dust that assists me
Untie my tongue faithful syllable
Your breath holds the air I beg for
© Translation: 2005, Nicolás Suescún
Lover let me wander under your weight
Amante déjame errar bajo tu peso
El camino reposa en el umbral
Las palabras tiemblan por mis dedos
La soledad come de mi plato
Me turba el agua de tus besos
Te debo la claridad de la hora
El polvo que me asiste
Desata mi lengua sílaba fiel
Tu aliento guarda el aire que imploro
El camino reposa en el umbral
Las palabras tiemblan por mis dedos
La soledad come de mi plato
Me turba el agua de tus besos
Te debo la claridad de la hora
El polvo que me asiste
Desata mi lengua sílaba fiel
Tu aliento guarda el aire que imploro
