Poem
Raúl Gómez Jattin
I have gone from hospital to hospital
I have gone from hospital to hospitalpalliating my madness
A madness that during many years
helped my imagination in my poetry
but that later became menacing
and put my life in danger
Now – without it – I write these verses
and I don’t know if I have gained or lost
I don’t know if you my reader – will notice this change
or if you will lament that my verses
have now become calm and tranquil
I hope that nature has taken pity on me
and that you don’t miss the fervour of those days

I have gone from hospital to hospital
He recorrido hospitales mitigando la locura
Una locura que durante muchos años
ayudó a mi imaginación en mi poesía
pero que después se volvió amenazante
y puso en peligro mi vida
Ahora sin ella – escribo estos versos
y no sé si he ganado o perdido
y no sé si he ganado o perdido
