ESPETXEKO HAIKUAK/JAILHOUSE HAIKUS
10.From over the walls
annunciations in light.
Good Christmas to you.
In the big-box store
happiness, so close to us,
and bargain hunting.
A Christmas visit.
Mom just doesn’t stop talking.
Our dad is in tears.
Card games and talking.
And that’s how we’ve spent the time
on this our Christmas.
Wafting through the cell
an excellent aroma.
The cell-block guards’ food.
The sirens go off.
All the lights have been put out.
Yet another day.

ESPETXEKO HAIKUAK/JAILHOUSE HAIKUS
10.
Hormen gainetik
argi iragarkiak.
Eguberri on.
Denda handian
zoriona, hain gertu,
merke-zurrean.
Gabon bisita.
Ama ez da isiltzen.
Negarrez aita.
Karta jokoa
eta solasaldia.
Gure gabonak.
Ziega barrurantz,
janari usain ona.
Zaintzaileena.
Jo du sirenak.
Itzali da argia.
Beste egun bat.
