Poem
Hans Faverey
My aquarium houses as many liters
My aquarium houses as many litersof water as are lodged inside it.
Before the lodge an old man sits,
upright, elbows on the table
before him, his hands half-folded,
seeing into the valley.
In open fields there stands a tree
that is an oak, left standing
to shadow what is at hand.
Grasses; animals. Never dissolving
in himself, self-outcasting: man.

In mijn aquarium huist hetzelfde aantal
In mijn aquarium huist hetzelfde aantal
liters water als daar wordt geherbergd.
Voor de herberg zit een oud man,
rechtop, ellebogen voor zich
op tafel, de handen half gevouwen,
het dal in ziende.
In het open veld staat een boom
die een eik is, daar staande gelaten
om te schaduwen wat voorhanden is.
Grassen; dieren. De nimmer in zich
oplossende, zich uitstotende mens.
liters water als daar wordt geherbergd.
Voor de herberg zit een oud man,
rechtop, ellebogen voor zich
op tafel, de handen half gevouwen,
het dal in ziende.
In het open veld staat een boom
die een eik is, daar staande gelaten
om te schaduwen wat voorhanden is.
Grassen; dieren. De nimmer in zich
oplossende, zich uitstotende mens.
