Poem
K. Schippers
BETWEEN THEM
The mild superstition
with cracks between
paving stones
that religion, the everyday
as opposed to the greater
all-encompassing structures
The separateness of things
leaf falls beside bench
next to garden hose
united only
by our watching
things are not linked
to each other
chasms yawn
between them

TUSSEN HEN IN
TUSSEN HEN IN
Het lichte bijgeloofmet strepen tussen
tegels
die religie, de alledaagse
t.o. de grotere
allesomvattende bouwsels
Het onverbondene van de dingen
blad valt naast bank
naast tuinslang
alleen door ons kijken
samenhang
de dingen hebben geen samenhang
t.o.v. elkaar
tussen hen in gaapt het
van de afgronden
