HALF GAZE
My mother dawdles
on leaving
hoping
that something
might make
her look even
better dozens
of years later
someone else
touches me
kisses me
how long
has it been
since
someone stroked
my mother’s back
I look with her
half gaze
she is partly
loved
in me
on leaving
hoping
that something
might make
her look even
better dozens
of years later
someone else
touches me
kisses me
how long
has it been
since
someone stroked
my mother’s back
I look with her
half gaze
she is partly
loved
in me

HALVE BLIK
HALVE BLIK
M’n moeder talmt
bij ’t weggaan
in de hoop
dat iets haar
zomaar
nog mooier
maakt tientallen
jaren later
raakt een
ander me aan
kust me
wanneer is de
rug van
m’n moeder
voor het laatst
gestreeld kijk
ik met haar
halve blik
wordt zij
deels in
mij bemind
bij ’t weggaan
in de hoop
dat iets haar
zomaar
nog mooier
maakt tientallen
jaren later
raakt een
ander me aan
kust me
wanneer is de
rug van
m’n moeder
voor het laatst
gestreeld kijk
ik met haar
halve blik
wordt zij
deels in
mij bemind
