Poem
Inuo Taguchi
A POEM OF THE UNIVERSE
The tree prefers a quiet lifeIt’s not that it devotes itself to reading in its study
or listening intently to Schubert
but the tree is not comfortable with dancing parties or banquets
The tree trusts chirping birds and whispering streams
rather than words
The tree is truly the storyteller of the universe
Without voicing words
the tree tells all through its deep silence
A poem more majestic than Homer
stands now blowing in a sudden breeze

kosmisch gedicht
