Poem

Those Were The Days (13)
13.some kid was running
bare-butt in the fountain
dressed only in a plush T-shirt
his dark-skinned mamma
was sitting on the bench
waiting for somebody
he was laughing and jumping
his T-shirt was wet
the soggy part was darker
parents of the other children had
difficulty keeping them away from the water
a kid was screaming
and fooling around
a few high school boys
wearing boots
were sitting on the pavement
in front of the Catholic Church
they were smoking weed
laughing at the kid
there was a dog
with them
some fluffy crossbreed

To su bili dani (13)
To su bili dani (13)
13.klinac je trčao
gole guzice po fontani
samo u plišanoj majici
njegova tamnoputa mama
je sjedila na klupi
i nekoga čekala
smijao se i skakao
majica mu se smočila
mokri dio je bio tamniji
drugu djecu su roditelji
jedva držali podalje od vode
klinac je vrištao
i izvodio ludorije
nekoliko srednjoškolaca
u čizmama
sjedilo je na nogostupu
ispred katoličke crkve
pušili su travu
i smijali se malom
s njima je bio
i jedan pas
nekakav čupavi mješanac
