ESPETXEKO HAIKUAK/JAILHOUSE HAIKUS

3.

The hour after noon.
The sentence is shortened by
a delicious nap.

With never a lapse
each afternoon in the mail:
a letter from mom.

The thing that’s most prized,
the treasure of the prison:
incoming letters.

The one who gets none
is pissed off as anything.
Keep yours down your pants.

ESPETXEKO HAIKUAK/JAILHOUSE HAIKUS

3.

Eguerdi oste.
Kondena laburtzen du
siesta goxoak.

Faltarik gabe
arratsero da postan
amaren karta.

Preziatuena,
espetxeko altxorra,
gutunak dira.

Haserre dabil
kartarik ez duena.
Gorde praketan.
