ENTANGLED
I sat on your lap.You were not my father.
I was not your daughter.
You were not my boyfriend.
I was not his girlfriend.
He was not the father of my child.
He was not my son.
Still I sat on his lap and drank beer.
Sat as if he were the Virgin Mary
and I were Baby Jesus.
We smoked a cigarette each.
Everything I say now is nonsense.
Everything I say now is wrong.
You were my father!
I was your child!
You were my son.
You were my boyfriend.
I was your girlfriend. I cannot lie.
I can only lie to myself.
Now you can forget me.

Han var ikke faren til mitt barn.

Likevel satt jeg på fanget hans og drakk øl.
Satt som om han var jomfru Maria
og jeg var Jesusbarnet.
Vi røykte hver vår sigarett.
Alt jeg sier nå er tull.
Alt jeg sier nå er feil.

Jeg var barnet ditt!
Du var sønnen min.
Du var kjæresten min.
Jeg var kjæresten din. Jeg kan ikke lyve.
Bare for meg selv kan jeg lyve.
Nå kan du glemme meg.
