            Loki was on about E.

saying it was getting cheaper,
that you could get it
for a quid a tab so long as it was wholesale,
that’s less than a packet of fags
so no problem.

two hours later
we’re sitting on a bench
and doing some blow.

and this chick of seventeen
is having a smoke with us.

never seen her before. she comes up
and says “is it OK if…?”

                                               she’s nodding out.
and says that she turned on first when she was 12.
and she’s going to the Love Parade this year
and her mum and dad are separated
and she suffers from insomnia.
and she reckons E is like they say at that age the Meaning of Life.

so she goes off home
and three yards away she’s flat on her face.

“No, I’m OK,” she says,
gets up
and is gone.

            Loki je pričao
o keksima.

kaže da im je pala cijena,
da naveliko može nabaviti po deset kuna,
da su jeftiniji od kutije cigara
i da je to OK.

dva sata kasnije
sjedili smo na klupi
i pljugali.

i klinka od sedamnaest
je pušila s nama.

a ne znamo se. samo je došla i
pitala “Mogu li?”

            ona kljuca.

ustala
i otišla.
