Poem
Ed Leeflang
Couple
How could they go on believingthat on ice, that was formed overnight,
piano and bed would hold;
not that they float, they enter
the day like their room,
watch the news, take a trip
and continue like others before them,
ducks on overnight ice.
Paar
Paar
Hoe konden ze blijven gelovendat op maar één nacht ijs
piano en bed kunnen staan;
niet dat ze zweven, ze komen
de dag in als hun kamer,
zien al het nieuws, gaan op reis
en bleven wat anderen waren,
eenden op één nacht ijs.
