Poem

Franco Buffoni

Greater Germany

And they come back to me
Sereni\'s poem about Amsterdam
From 1957
And the one by De Libero
"German September," from 1943.
Claudio child with the fragrance
Of fresh skin,
Who doesn\'t fit into the German morning,
Killed for laughing for not going away
Without the mess hall\'s leftovers.
And Sereni\'s Dutchman who acknowledges
They\'re back as tourists now we welcome them
And give them the information that they want
But not one word more.

Grande Germania

Grande Germania

E mi si fanno vicine
La poesia di Sereni su Amsterdam
Del cinquantasette
E quella di De Libero
"Settembre tedesco", del quarantatré.
Claudio bambino odoroso
Di pelle nuova,
Che non si addice al mattino tedesco,
Ucciso perché ride non si allontana
Senza gli avanzi del rancio.
E a Sereni l\'olandese che ammette
Sono tornati come turisti li accogliamo
E diamo loro anche informazioni
Ma non una parola di più.
