Poem
Laura Accerboni
I wear
I wearthe new smile
only when I go out.
I wouldn’t want
to spoil it.
And I shine brighter
if it’s not a habit.
I climb on all the thrones
and point the way
to the weakest.
I also have ten children
and a little dog
to walk with.
Still I dance for you at home
while you dine
and I show you the sales
while you sleep
and I shine
in your head,
I shine
and do not breathe.
Mijn nieuwe glimlach
Mijn nieuwe glimlachzet ik enkel op
als ik uitga.
Het zou zonde zijn
mocht die bederven.
Ik schitter trouwens méér
wanneer het geen gewoonte wordt,
ik bestijg alle tronen
en wijs de zwakkeren
de weg.
Ik heb daarbij tien kinderen
en een klein hondje
om mee uit wandelen te gaan.
En toch dans ik thuis voor jou
terwijl je eet
en laat je de koopjes zien
terwijl je slaapt
en ik schitter
in je hoofd,
ik schitter
ademloos.
Il sorriso nuovo
lo metto solo
quando esco.
Non è il caso
che si rovini.
E poi luccico meglio
se non è un’abitudine,
salgo su tutti i troni
e indico la strada
ai più deboli.
Ho anche dieci figli
e un piccolo cane
da passeggio.
Eppure ti ballo in casa
mentre mangi
e ti mostro i saldi
mentre dormi
e ti luccico
in testa,
luccico
e non respiro.
lo metto solo
quando esco.
Non è il caso
che si rovini.
E poi luccico meglio
se non è un’abitudine,
salgo su tutti i troni
e indico la strada
ai più deboli.
Ho anche dieci figli
e un piccolo cane
da passeggio.
Eppure ti ballo in casa
mentre mangi
e ti mostro i saldi
mentre dormi
e ti luccico
in testa,
luccico
e non respiro.
