Poem
Eva Durán
FINAL WORDS
Eva del Pilar Duránknew nothing about remorse
not in the moistness of her body
nor in the heat of her tears
she looked for the supreme truth in magazines
plucked the petals off planets
constructed empires from caramel
picked her crops in the clouds
broke the rules
bit the dust
and was inferior to herself
the world won’t take long
to forget her

PALABRAS FINALES
PALABRAS FINALES
Eva del Pilar Duránno conoció el arrepentimiento
ni por la humedad de su cuerpo
ni por el fuego de sus lagrimas
buscó la verdad suprema en las revistas
deshojó planetas
construyó imperios de caramelo
cosechó en las nubes
violó normas
mordió el polvo
y fue inferior a sí misma
el mundo no demorará
mucho tiempo en olvidarla
