Poem
Yao Feng
Carlos
Mostly, they are crushed by life’s oppressivenessIt is only now
when he clasps so firmly Anna’s head
that he can murmur softly: Love, and death
as if death were love’s acme, heaven’s bedrock
Dampened and ruffled, the blankets
resemble waves or demented gales
Onwards the pair sail, or they soar
though both endings have their end in earth
