ORIHUELA

All day I’ve had Miguel in my head,
which is about to burst
like his, long ago, on his way to Orihuela.

All day I’ve carried within me his goats and deeds,
his pants of rude nightingale and his pockets,
his laughing clay, throwing
flashes of love through its openings.

All day I’ve carried his prison cell,
as a future son of his death.

ORIHUELA

ORIHUELA

Hoy he cargado a Miguel en mi cabeza,
Que está por reventar,
Como en otro tiempo camino de Orihuela.

Hoy he cargado sus cabras y proezas,
Sus pantalones de rudo ruiseñor y sus bolsillos,
La risa de su barro, que lanza
Relámpagos de amor por sus ventanas.

Hoy he cargado su celda todo el día,
Como hijo futuro de su muerte.
