Poem
Slavko Jendričko
How Martin Luther King Was Dying
My motherkeeps the promised yogurt of
paradise in the refrigerator.
Pigs resurrect in ice.
A peasant enters the pigsty.
In waders
he feels blood and warm guts.
Airplane flies above his backyard.
Not a sign of wander
could be seen
on his face.
Martin Luther King:
Martin Luther King.

Kako je umirao Martin Luther King
Kako je umirao Martin Luther King
Moja majkaobećani rajski jogurt
drži u hladnjaku.
U ledu uskrsavaju svinje.
Seljak ulazi u svinjac.
U visokim čizmama
osjeća krv i topla crijeva.
Zrakoplov nadlijeće njegovo dvorište.
Nikakvi znaci čuđenja
ne odražavaju se
na njegovu licu.
Martin Luther King:
Martin Luther King.
