About Casagrande
Casagrande is a Chilean art collective founded by Cristóbal Bianchi, Joaquín Prieto, and Julio Carrasco. The collective blurs the lines between poetry, art, and performance, employing unconventional media to reinterpret historical memory while addressing contemporary and recent conflicts. Their most well-known work is ‘The Bombing of Poems’.

The first performance took place in Santiago, Chile, in 2001, over La Moneda Palace, which was attacked during the coup d’état in 1973. This historical event inspired the development of ‘The Bombing of Poems’. After the initial experience in Chile, the performance has been reenacted in various cities around the world, including Dubrovnik (2002), Guernica (2004), Warsaw (2009), Berlin (2010), London (2012), Milan (2015), and Madrid (2018). Each of these cities, like Rotterdam, has a history of experiencing air bombings.
