Joost Oomen (1990) is a poet, writer, theater maker, and drummer, known for his energetic, playful, and vivid language. He was the house poet and later the city poet of Groningen and won the Hendrik de Vries stipend in 2011. His work, translated into several languages, is published by Querido and has taken him to stages such as Lowlands and Crossing Border. De Volkskrant named him literary talent of the year in 2021. Besides writing, he organizes literary events and is a co-founder of the Instagram channel Poetry is an Act. In his free time, he plays records with the literary DJ collective Team KTW.
