Esmé van den Boom

Esmé van den Boom (1993) is a poet and writer. She is driven by a curiosity for the everyday and hidden stories. Her work balances between fascination and discovery. She was the house poet of the University of Groningen and was named one of the ten writers to watch by NRC. With Eigen kamers, her collection about the dreams and fears of Groningen women, she won the Hendrik de Vriesstipendium. She has been the city poet of Groningen since 2024.
