Prepitaph

Prepitaph

Prepitaph

When I am dead
Bury me not dead,
But alive!

When my eyes are shut
And my lips are sealed
Lean over my heart;
You’ll hear it bleed!
Listen to my bones;
You’ll hear them crack.
And then my brains
Will answer back:

“Yes ! He is dead!
“ Bury him not dead,
“But alive!”
