Poem
Debarati Mitra
Train Time
At dawn quarter to five the train like dodo\'s skeletonAt morning nine a bird, thick rice fields.
When it\'s eleven thirty
Accumulated rainwater in a soft sand-hole.
Afternoon quarter to three –
Three or four moths companionless all day.
Evening six forty-three
Warm aroma and flavour of roasted chicken
At nine thirty-four almost cruelty
Loving bee sting.
At night one fifty-five
Darkness like Kali\'s womb, alone.
