Poem

A BORDER CROSSING AS LONG AS ALZHEIMER’S
first you forget the names of placesthen nouns
then verbs
out of I love you
love is left
then it disappears too
no
in the end the word will suddenly start looking for
the nearest orifices
and will crawl into oblivion
like a border-guard in a white parka
crawling into the snow that doesn't belong to him
everything will go calm
when inside my slowly freezing little soldier
the last
warm letter snaps
but it will have time to remember you
OVERSTEKEN VAN EEN GRENSSTROOK TER LENGTE VAN DE ZIEKTE VAN ALZHEIMER
eerst worden persoonlijke voornaamwoorden vergetendan zelfstandige naamwoorden
dan werkwoorden
van ik hou van jou
blijft hou over
ook dat zal later verdwijnen
nee
