Poem
Carmen García
We have crossed the bridges that lead us to the sea
We have crossed the bridges that lead us to the sea. There, where words slumber, lose their meaning; the whales arrive one by one. They wait for death, close to the shore. And death is deep blue, like the silence at the bottom of the ocean. The orcas are dying beneath the bridges. My brother and I pray for what’s to come.
