The Golden Age
what is your habitat?my habitat is an ashtray, a desk
a chair, a candlestick, books, boxes.
what is your habitat?
my habitat is a box.
what is your habitat?
my habitat is a box in which
all sorts of objects are placed.
what is your habitat?
my habitat is the first object
i touch and pronounce its name.
what is your habitat?
my habitat is the bed if i lie
on the bed knowing it is a bed.
what is your habitat?
my habitat is made of things that make me know:
measure, origin, function, material and name.
what is your habitat?
my habitat is a cube if the earth is
in the shape of a cube and a ball if the earth is a ball.

my habitat is the distance from the chair
i am sitting on to the chair on which i am going to sit

my habitat is a planet
that i can go all over saying i went all over
the planet called earth.

stolica, svijecnjak, knjige, kutije.

moja je okolina kutija u koju su
smješteni svakojaki predmeti.
što je tvoja okolina?
moja je okolina predmet koji
prvi dotaknem i izgovorim njegovo ime.
što je tvoja okolina?
moja je okolina krevet ako legnem
na krevet i znam da je to krevet.
što je tvoja okolina?
moja je okolina stvari kojima znam:
mjeru, podrijetlo, funkciju, materijal i ime.
što je tvoja okolina?
moja je okolina kocka ako je zemlja
u obliku kocke i kugla ako je zemlja kugla.
što je tvoja okolina?
moja je okolina udaljenost od stolice
na kojoj sjedim do stolice na koju cu sjesti.
što je tvoja okolina?
moja je okolina planeta
koju mogu obici i kazati obišao sam
planetu koja se zove zemlja.
što je tvoja okolina?
moja je okolina pepeljara, pisaci stol,
stolica, svijecnjak, knjige u kutiji
koja se zove planeta-kutija.
što je tvoja okolina?
moja je okolina broj predmeta kojima
poznajem ime i znam cemu služe.
