THE MOUNTAIN HOLDS ITS BREATH
there was a deep breathand then the mountain stood there
then the mountains stood there
and that’s how the mountains stand there
and stoop downwards
and downwards
into themselves
and hold their breath
while heaven and sea
stroke and beat
the mountain holds its breath

DE BERG HOUDT ZIJN ADEM IN
een diep inademenen toen stond de berg daar
toen stond de berg daar
en zo staat de berg daar
en buigt zich neer
en neer
in zichzelf
en houdt zijn adem in
terwijl wind en water
strelen en slaan
houdt de berg zijn adem in

anden vart trekt djuptog så stod fjellet der
så stod fjella der
og slik står fjella der
og lutar seg nedover

i seg sjølv
og held anden
medan himmel og hav
