ANGULAR LIGHT
Groping for the wet innardsof the body, at the climax
of the encounter, hands sometimes
recoil for a moment from a strange
light that delineates the bones
as in a Javanese shadow play,
and makes them glow faintly
where the skeleton almost
presses through the skin.
A light as exotic as it’s angular
that keeps haunting our
heads. Till it becomes clear:
someone in a fit of stubbornness
must have ignited it
here.

HOEKIG LICHT
HOEKIG LICHT
Tastend naar de natte binnenkantenvan het lichaam, op het hoogtepunt
van de ontmoeting, deinzen handen
soms even terug voor een vreemd
licht dat de botten uittekent
als in een Javaans schimmenspel,
en zacht laat gloeien
waar het skelet bijna
door het vel heen drukt.
Een even exotisch als hoekig licht
dat in onze hoofden rond blijft
spoken. Tot het helder wordt:
iemand moet het in een vlaag
van koppigheid hier hebben
aangestoken.
