UNWITTING, YET ADULTERY
How she prepares herself for her husband’s homecoming:she slides a chair against the sun,
rubs her body smooth,
tunes up her inner orchestra,
lets out a smell of bareness
below her short summer-dress.
She shakes up her hormones.
Deep within herself she checks that time
has not affected her too much.
She dreams a pose, of being
lifted up, a longing that beats in
her body, she lets a cry escape
to test the pending echo.
How she folds inwards in anticipation.

ONWETEND, MAAR OVERSPEL
Hoe zij zich voorbereidt op de thuiskomst van haar man:zij schuift een stoel tegen de zon,
wrijft haar lichaam soepel,
stemt haar inwendig orkest,
legt onder haar korte zomerjurk
een geur van naaktheid uit.
Zij schudt haar hormonen op.
Diep in zich kijkt zij of de tijd
haar niet te veel heeft aangetast.
Zij droomt zich een pose, een opgetild
worden, een hunkering die in haar lichaam
slaat, zij laat een kreet ontsnappen
om de hangende galm te beproeven.
Hoe zij zich invouwt in afwachting.
