Poem
Maria van Daalen
Mother
Your heart was not affected.Your love for me had saved it for a lucid death.
You were glad to be going.
We celebrated the Supper with small glasses
of gin, brought it along to stay awake.
C, who has the right to bless, blessed
all three of the three glasses.
You faded away.
I saw your soul leave your eyes.
Deceasing, I feel what it means now.
When we got home, we were really very merry.
Only yesterday I start crying
and cannot stop anymore.

Moeder
Moeder
Toen we thuiskwamen waren we echt heel vrolijk.
Pas gisteren begin ik te huilen
en kan niet meer ophouden.
