CRYING IN THE STREET
CRYING IN THE STREET
CRYING IN THE STREET
A child enjoyingthe street
has a mother
a blind mother.
The child cries
because its mother
wants it to cry.
She lost her voice
in songs of begging
She wants the child
to cry for alms
For it cannot sing.
A child
crying in the street
is losing its voice
to the streets
that took away
its mother’s voice.
