Remarque-Peace-Prize to Mahmud Darwish

Mahmud Darwish wins the Erich-Maria –Remarque Peace Prize.
The Prize, awarded by the Council of Osnabrück every two years, is endowed with 10.000 €.
Hans Magnus Enzensberger and Lew Kopelew are among the former award-winners, last year the award was given to Swetlana Alexijewitsch.
The award-ceremony will take place in the city hall of Osnabrück on the 27th of June.Dan Bar-On, Israeli professor for psychology, will also be awarded with the Peace Prize.Mahmud Darwish is one of the most important Arab poets and is considered to be the „Voice of Palastine“.
