Popescu translation prize 2005
For the first time in its 22-year old history, the Corneliu M. Popescu Prize for European Poetry Translation has gone to a translation of a Romanian collection. Adam J. Sorkin and Lidia Vianu received the prize for their translation of Marin Sorescu’s collection The Bridge, during an awards ceremony organised by the Poetry Society and The Ratiu Foundation UK in London on September 8.
