Constantine wins Popescu prize for translation Enzensberger
The Corneliu M Popescu Prize for European Poetry Translation, for a work translated from a European language into English, has been awarded to David Constantine for his translation of Hans Magnus Enzensberger's Lighter than Air. The prize, worth 1500 British pounds, was named after the young Romanian translator Popescu who died in the earthquake of 1977, aged nineteen.
