SCHEDULE CHANGE: Translation Slam on 13 June
May 22, 2015
Due to the rescheduling of Kenneth Goldsmith’s appearance at the Poetry International Festival, the Translation Slam between Dutch translators, and frequently collaborators, Robert-Jan Henkes and Erik Bindervoet has been moved to Saturday, 11 June, 8 p.m.
Normally Erik Bindervoet and Robert-Jan Henkes work as a duo to bring English-language poets into Dutch. For this year’s festival, they translated the work of Australian poet Lionel Fogarty. During the Translation Slam, however, we will see Bindervoet versus Henkes, as they will take every opportunity to one-up and to outdo each other in a whirlwind race to solve a series of challenging translations questions arising from Fogarty’s verse.
