A. Roland Holst Grant for H.C. ten Berge

Poet / novelist / translator H.C. ten Berge will receive the triennial A. Roland Holst Grant for poetry
Ten Berge has been awarded the prize, which consists of €5000,- and a medal, for his complete works. Ten Berge (b. 1938) was the founder of the important experimental literary magazine Raster and has numerous collections, novels and translations to his name. His latest collection of poetry Oesters en gestampte pot (Oysters and hotchpotch) dates from 2001. Former winners of the Roland Holst Grant are: Anton Korteweg (1986), Eva Gerlach (1988), Ed Leeflang (1991), F. Harmsen van Beek (1994), C.O. Jellema (1997) and Willem van Toorn (2000). Adriaan Roland Holst (1888-1976) was an important poet in the Netherlands (called 'Prince of Poets') during the Interbellum.
