(Un)translatable
At Poetry International, we believe in the power of translation. Every year, dozens of festival translators make sure that the audience is able to understand each poetry reading. Translation can bring about a lot of obstacles, but is there such a thing as an untranslatable word, line or text? During this program, we ask translators about their experiences; what is the most difficult thing they’ve ever had to translate, and do they believe that everything is, in fact, translatable?
Guests: Gary Geddes and Fiep van Bodegom
