The Soda Drink in South Africa

The Soda Drink in South Africa

The Soda Drink in South Africa

The can of American sugar-water
is the cross of Jesus Cola
                     carried over the shining water
                     by bold missionaries
                     to these savage lands.

In it we pledge our faith. It is our future,
                     more secure than Hallelujah,
                     comforting us with knowing
                     our millennium lies in
                     its maker’s wise paternal hands.
