Nirvana/ Words of a feather
1.Some birds
flew out of a book at night
and gathered on the terrace of my building.
One of them
entered my room through the window.
And perched itself
on the burning night-lamp.
The fuse in my room
blew off.
2.
I read in the morning papers
that I had been declared lost.
I came home
munching ten-paise worth of peanuts.
And met myself in the doorway.
I turned away quickly and went inside
opened the book lying on the table:
the dead birds tumbled out
and scattered all over the floor.
I vomited blood.
