Biography
In her work, Bernke Klein Zandvoort moves between literature and the visual arts. She writes poems and essays, weaves text and image into live video-essays, creates books and programs and collects poetry for the magazine De Revisor. In 2020, her collection Veldwerk appeared. Klein Zandvoort’s poems take up all the space they need, in associations and themes as well as in references to the discernible physical world. She is a penetrating observer. Often the lines in her poems resemble a collection of observations lined up side by side, but when read carefully, they certainly turn out to be connected In her engagement with the tangible world, there is plenty of space for unusual observations, subtle position-taking, but above all for a different, better way of learning how to look.
