Welcome to Italian poetry - June 2006
January 18, 2006
The Job of the Poet by Elisa Biagini
We’re currently introducing a new data supporting system at PIW and this means that in a short time the magazine will undergo a change of on-line format. The individual country home pages will disappear, with different country sections linked straight from the International home page. We hope that this new format will bring greater unity to the site.
In the meantime a short word about June’s Italian section. Roberto Baronti Marchiò has chosen Elisa Biagini, a poet with the soul of a pathologist, for this quarter. Biagini is a poet whose intense interest in the human body is used to startling effect. As she takes her reader on a tour of a morgue, for example, prepare to go under the skin in an entirely different kind of way.
