Five new translations of poems by Erik Spinoy

No noise in this soundproof room

July 19, 2012
The Flemish poet Erik Spinoy was a guest at the 41st Poetry International Festival Rotterdam in 2010. His seventh collection, Dode kamer (Soundproof Room; 2011), was nominated for the 2012 VSB Poetry Prize. We are pleased to add five new poems from this collection, along with translations into English by Willem Groenewegen, to Erik Spinoy’s page on this website.
The poems are:

‘That evening there were salsa sounds’
‘The pearly white morning hasn’t broken’
‘On rubber wheels the door of this’
‘Take this flesh
and ‘Skin as the thinnest palest eggshell’

Read Erik Spinoy’s biographies and view his other poems, along with audio and video recordings, here.
