Márcio-André and Sascha Aurora Akhtar
Poetry and performance
May 31, 2012
Márcio-André and Sascha Aurora Akhtar are both poets who enjoy turning their staged poetry readings into ‘total performances’, embedded in image and sound. In short, they integrate various media and art forms into their performances and link this to their poetry. During this year’s Poetry International Festival, the poets will explain exactly why the interweaving of poetry with other media is so crucial to putting across the essence of their work to their audiences.
In conversation, they will reveal to what extent they see their work as an artistic whole in which the discrete elements may or may not be inextricably linked whilst simultaneously conveying their views on how poetry should be presented.Sponsors
