Remco Campert to write pamphlet for Dutch and Flemish National Poetry Day 2011

The theme of the twelfth National Poetry Day (Gedichtendag) in the Netherlands and Flanders on 27 January 2011 is to be ‘Night’, it was announced today. National Poetry Day is a collaborative event, organised by the Poetry International Foundation and the Flemish Readers Association, involving poetry-related events across schools, libraries and cultural organisations.
Each year, a pamphlet of poetry is commissioned for the National Poetry Day; the pamphlet for 2011 will be written by Dutch poet Remco Campert. It will be available for purchase in bookshops in Flanders and the Netherlands from 27 January.
Poetry International Web will also publish English translations of the poems online on 27 January.
