The Creative Writing course at the University of East Anglia in the UK turns 40 this year. On BBC Radio 4's Front Row programme, Mark Lawson examines the history of creative-writing teaching, and speaks to writers including Ian McEwan, Fay Weldon, Richard Ford, Chang-rae Lee, Tobias Hill and Joyce Carol Oates about some of the controversies surrounding these courses.
