Dunmore wins National Poetry Competition

Helen Dunmore won this year’s National Poetry Competition in the UK. In 1996, Dunmore won the inaugural Orange prize for her novel A Spell of Winter. She submitted her winning poem, ‘The Malarkey’, at the last minute “on an impulse”.
