Dutch and Flemish Poetry Day prizes awarded

Arjen Duinker, Hester Knibbe and Nachoem Wijnberg are the winners of the 2010 Dutch and Flemish Poetry Day prizes, a yearly prize awarded to the best three poems of the preceding year. Arjen Duinker won the prize for his poem ‘Leve de camouflage!’ from Buurtkinderen (Uitgeverij Querido), Hester Knibbe for ‘Oogsteen’ from Oogsteen (Uitgeverij De Arbeiderspers) and Nachoem M. Wijnberg for ‘En wat gaan we dan doen? Zou ik dat op de muur kunnen schrijven?’ from Divan van Ghalib (Uitgeverij Contact). All three poets will receive a prize of € 2,500 which will be awarded to them at the House of Poetry event in Utrecht, at 8 p.m. on 28 January.
